Mean field exponents and small quark masses

چکیده

We demonstrate that the restoration of chiral symmetry at finite-T in a class of confining Dyson-Schwinger equation (DSE) models of QCD is a mean field transition, and that an accurate determination of the critical exponents using the chiral and thermal susceptibilities requires very small values of the currentquark mass: log10(m/mu) ∼< −5. Other classes of DSE models characterised by qualitatively different interactions also exhibit a mean field transition. Incipient in this observation is the suggestion that mean field exponents are a result of the gap equation’s fermion substructure and not of the interaction. Typeset using REVTEX

Calculating the Critical Exponents of the Chiral Phase Transition

We calculate the critical exponents of the chiral phase transition at nonzero temperature using the thermal and chiral susceptibilities. We show that within a class of confining Dyson–Schwinger equation (DSE) models the transition is mean field, and that an accurate determination of the critical exponents requires extremely small values of the current-quark mass, several order of magnitude smal...

Exploring QCD at small sea quark masses with improved Wilson-type

We explore the region of small sea quark masses below mPS/mV = 0.5 in two-flavor QCD using a mean-field improved clover quark action and an RG-improved gauge action at a ≃ 0.2 fm on 12 × 24 and 16 × 24 lattices. We find that instability of the standard BiCGStab algorithm at small quark masses can be mostly removed by the BiCGStab(DS-L) algorithm, which employs L-th minimal residual polynomials ...

Critical Behavior of the Chiral Condensate at the Qcd Phase Transition *

Simulations of the QCD chiral phase transition with dynamical quarks have been carried out in the past for a variety of quark masses at different lattice spacings[1]. For two light flavors of staggered fermions these simulations indicate a smooth transition. If this turns out to be a second order transition, one expects the associated critical behavior to be in the O(4) universality class[2]. T...

Baryon Density and the Dilated Chiral Quark Model

We calculate perturbatively the effect of density on hadronic properties using the chiral quark model implemented by the QCD trace anomaly. We calculate the density dependent masses of the constituent quark (mQ), the scalar field (mχ) and the pion (mπ) in oneloop order using the technique of thermo field dynamics. In the chiral limit, the pion remains massless at finite density. It is found tha...

Full QCD Light Hadron Spectrum and Quark Masses : Final Results from CP - PACS ∗ CP - PACS

We present the final results of the CP-PACS calculation of the light hadron spectrum and quark masses with two flavors of dynamical quarks. Simulations are made with a renormalization-group improved gauge action and a mean-field improved clover quark action for sea quark masses corresponding to mPS/mV ≈ 0.8–0.6 and the lattice spacing a = 0.22–0.11 fm. For the meson spectrum in the continuum li...
